What Do You Allow?

Do you realize that your words have the kind of creative power that can stop Satan in his tracks? They can bind him!

In Matthew 18:18–19 Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.”

God has given you a commitment. His Word says what you stop on earth is stopped in heaven, and what you allow on earth is permitted in heaven.

I remember a time when I felt a concern in my spirit about a friendship one of my daughters was involved with. It really bugged me. Yet I allowed it to progress because I didn’t want to rock the boat.

That was a serious mistake. A few days later I noticed an action…and a reaction…in my daughter that was like a mirror image of the girl she’d been hanging around with.

Then I heard the unmistakable voice of the Lord reminding me, “What you allow you go into agreement with.”

I said, “That’s it! It stops today!” I decided, at the risk of hurting my daughter’s feelings, that I would not permit this association anymore. I realized a short-term hurt would bring long-term benefits, no matter how difficult the process.

What you agree to, you can be bound to. What do you allow?
