Walking in an Opposite Direction

Richard Roberts

If you’re serving God, Satan is going to come against you. I often say you’ll never run into someone if you’re walking in the same direction. You can only run into someone if you’re going in the opposite direction. You don’t run into Satan if you’re walking on his path. It’s when you’re walking on God’s path that you encounter him.

The devil’s attacks are to be expected, but you don’t have to be defeated by them. In 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 NKJV the apostle Paul says, We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed. When Satan’s attacks come, don’t be discouraged. You can defeat him by standing strong in your faith, knowing that “God always causes us to triumph in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:14).
