6. There is victory.
One of the last statements Jesus made from the Cross was, It is finished (John 19:30). These words tell us that there is victory in the Cross. Jesus finished the work that He came to this earth to do. With these words, Jesus built a bridge and hung it across the chasm that separates man from God. Since that time, people have been walking across that bridge into the waiting arms of God. There is victory in the Cross for you!
7. There is security.
At the moment of His death, Jesus showed us that there is security in the Cross. He hung on His breast and said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit (Luke 23:46). At that moment, His spirit went out of His body and up into the waiting arms of God. There is life after death — eternal life beyond this world. There is security in the Cross!
The Cross is just as real today as it has ever been. It is because of an act of repentance that the Cross is real to me today. I’ll never forget how, when I was nineteen years old, I put my head in my mother’s lap as I had done as a little boy and I prayed a sinner’s prayer and accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I’ve never been the same since!
The Cross is still there to meet the most basic needs of your life at this very moment. It doesn’t matter how great the need or how impossible the situation seems to be, Jesus is able to meet your need. Reach out to Him now, and receive your miracle.
