Jesus, speaking to His disciples in Matthew 10:7˗8, said, “And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”
Luke 9:1˗2 tells us, Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
Mark 16:17˗18 also says, And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents [enemies]; and if they drink any deadly thing [accidentally], it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Notice the similarity of these three passages of Scripture. I want you to understand that healing is mainstream. You will find that Jesus spent some two-thirds to three-fourths of His ministry on earth healing the sick. He was either on His way to heal someone, He was there healing someone, or He was on His way back from healing someone else.
There are many questions that I am constantly asked. One is “Why, when I feel the power of God, does the manifestation not come immediately?” I always respond, “I don’t know.” But I do know this: What healing is missed on this earth, the resurrection will get it all! One of the most serious mistakes I could ever make would be to blame someone’s lack of faith as the reason they didn’t receive their healing. My job is to pray and to believe that God is the Healer.
