“Now …”

From the archives of Oral RobertsSecond of three parts

Throughout the Bible, we read about “now” moments as God has moved through men and women to change the course of history.

In Numbers 12:13 … we hear Moses crying to the Lord, “Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.” Moses is asking God to come into the NOW of his life and that of his beloved sister, Miriam. He’s looking for God to invade their NOW with His healing power.

In Jeremiah 35:15 … we find a shift. God is inviting His people to be in His NOW: “I have sent also you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Return ye now every man from his evil way, and amend your doings, and go not after other gods to serve them, and ye shall dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers.” God was saying, “Do this NOW. Act NOW. Join with Me NOW. Let Me bless you NOW.” It is as if God Himself is crying out to His people. “I want you to keep up with My blessings!”

In Malachi 3:10 … we find God again saying to His people, “Prove me now.” He is once again inviting His people to come into the Now of His eternal, everlasting prosperity. He is saying to His people, “Prove Me so I can give you something, Now. Keep up. Let Me open the windows of Heaven. Let Me rebuke the devourer for your sakes. Stay up with Me. I want you in My NOW of miracles.”

God wants you and me to be at the cutting edge of His existence! That’s where miracles are happening. That’s where blessings are flowing like a river. Say it to yourself today. “I am in God’s NOW.”
