There’s a lot of talk today about insider information and confidentiality of sources. “Information businesses” are among the fastest growing ones in our nation.
Jesus told his disciples about the true “insider information.” He said that when the Holy Spirit comes—which He did on the day of Pentecost, some 50 days after Jesus was resurrected from the dead—He would live inside those of us who believe in the Lord Jesus and He would guide us into all truth. The newspapers and television programs today don’t tell me anything I need to know about how to live my life. I read the papers and watch the news to learn what is happening in the world and to know how to better pray for certain people and nations, but the news reports don’t dictate how I’m going to live my life. They are not my true source of information. They can give me part of the truth, but they can’t guide me into all truth. Only the Holy Spirit can do that.
I’ve made a decision that I’m going to live my life according to what the Word of God says and by what the Holy Spirit speaks in my inner man. Jesus said, too, that the Holy Spirit would only speak about those things that glorify Jesus. What a far cry from our news media today!
Isn’t it time we tune in to true insider information, and tune in to the Holy Spirit within us? You can trust Him to give you the whole story about yourself, about God, and about Jesus, and do it in a way that will build you up, not tear you down!
