How to Reconnect With God

And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. – Luke 15:21

Perhaps you feel wounded; maybe you feel like you’re part of a lost generation; maybe you feel like the prodigal son. Maybe you feel like closing off for a few days so you can find your inner self, which, as the New Agers teach, is the center of the universe. Or maybe you’re just looking for God, but you’re looking in all the wrong places.

God left us something, and He left us Someone… a way that we can reconnect ourselves with the power that comes from on high. He left us His Word ― the Word of God ― for the Bible says the Word that God speaks is alive, full of power, active, energizing, effective, and sharper than any two-edged sword. It also says that the thief, or the devil, comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy (John 10:10). The devil comes to steal the Word out of your heart.

But Jesus said, “I am come that you might have life, and that you might have it abundantly, eternally, everlastingly.” Jesus also gave you Someone. He didn’t leave you alone. When Jesus died and rose from the dead, He said, “I will not leave you comfortless. I will send you another Comforter, and He will teach you.” He is the teacher. He not only knows the truth, but He is the truth, and the truth will set you free.

The Holy Spirit will come into you and take up residence in your heart. He will give you what you’ve never had in your life ― peace with God!

It’s time to take out the Word of God, dust it off, and say, “O God, be merciful to me, a sinner. Come into my heart. Save me from my sins. Heal me, deliver me, and set me free. Amen.”
