God’s Way Is Not the World’s Way

From the archives of Oral RobertsFirst of seven parts – Biblical Prosperity

God’s system for “biblical prosperity” differs greatly from the world’s system of prosperity.

Biblical prosperity is, first of all, a “total prosperity.” It’s the prosperity of III John 2, which says, “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.” Biblical prosperity includes health for your body and salvation for your soul; as well as financial blessing.

Second, biblical prosperity is based on God’s promise to His people in Hebrews 6:14, that He would bless us and make us a blessing. God brings prosperity into our lives so that we might share that prosperity with others.

And third, biblical prosperity is not achieved by the world’s system. Many times the world’s system tells us that in order to get ahead, it’s all right to tear someone else down, beat someone out of a fair deal, or use someone else’s head as a stepping-stone to the top. God wants His people to prosper, but never at the expense of someone else.

God’s method is based on the principle of a seed: Be not deceived: God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not (Galatians 6:7,9).
