God’s Green Light

From the archives of Oral Roberts

As human beings, we’re prone to think God works according to our human reasoning. When we pray, we often prejudge our situation and decide that God should solve our problem this way or that way. And if He doesn’t carry out our idea of how He ought to do it, we secretly think, I guess this problem is beyond God’s ability to handle.

That is what Satan, that father of lies, would like us to believe. It’s his goal to get us to accept the status quo: we are down and out … there is nothing that we can do … our situation is impossible. The difficulty is that God’s Word somehow fails to get through to us. We acquire a mental block against accepting for ourselves God’s powerful promises, such as:

With us is the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles (II Chronicles 32:8 NIV).

Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world (I John 4:4).

“All things are possible to him who believes” (Mark 9:23 NKJV).

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? (Romans 8:32 NKJV)

And this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith (I John 5:4).

All of God’s promises come alive when we apply them to our problems. Faith is God’s green light to work miracles in our lives. And… with Him, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37)!
