God Doesn’t Hold Grudges

From the archives of Evelyn Roberts

Psalm 103 is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible. It says that God has not dealt with us after our sins nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great are His mercy and loving-kindness toward those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him (vv. 10-11 AMPC).

Did you ever ask someone for their forgiveness and have them say, “Oh, I’ll forgive you, but I’ll never forget?” We have a hard time forgetting wrongs, but God doesn’t hold grudges. When He forgives us, He doesn’t continually throw our past wrongs up to us. He forgives and forgets! Verse 12 says, As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us. What a marvelous God!
