From Increase to Increase

Richard Roberts

Are you where you want to be today? Or, like most of us, is there still something MORE that you would like to be, to do, to accomplish for God? The good news is that God wants to meet that need… He wants you to have exceedingly, abundantly above all you can ask or think… He wants you to experience His miracles in your life (Ephesians 3:20)!

That’s why God set up the law of increase. The law of increase says that when we plant a portion of what we have ― and we do it so that our faith starts believing for God’s best ― God will multiply that small “seed” of what we have into a miracle harvest. For example, when a farmer plants a kernel of corn, it produces a stalk that produces many kernels. If those kernels are planted, God causes dozens of stalks of corn to spring forth from the ground, each stalk with dozens more kernels ― each one a potential of more seed. And so forth. An entire field of corn ultimately can come from one kernel. That’s God’s law of increase at work.

The tithe ― which means one-tenth ― is the means by which God established the law of increase for His people. The number 10 in the Bible is also the number that means “increase.” God intends for His people to plant a portion of what they have in order to produce an increase in their lives. He said to His people in Malachi 3:10–11: “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes.”

Are you planting a tithe of what you have into God’s work? Do it and then expect God’s increase into your life. He wants to take you from increase to increase ― to the fullness of a blessing where you have so much you can hardly contain it all!
