Faith Is Where You Find It

Richard Roberts

I\’ve learned that faith is not always where you think it is. It was certainly that way in Jesus\’ day. Only twice in the Bible did He refer to a person\’s great faith, and neither was a religious person. One was a Roman centurion, a member of a hated race of people. He sought healing for his servant who was paralyzed. The centurion told Jesus to just say the word and his servant would be healed. Jesus told His disciples, “I\’ve not found such great faith, not even in Israel” (Matthew 8:10 NKJV).

The other person with great faith was a Canaanite woman who had a demon-possessed daughter. He said to her, “O woman, great is your faith!” (Matthew 15:28 NKJV)   It appears that Jesus didn\’t expect to find such faith on either occasion. But faith is where you find it.
