Faith Is Not Blind

From the archives of Oral Roberts

Have you ever heard someone talk about “blind faith”? Well, faith is not blind. It is a knowing. Faith is when the Holy Spirit supernaturally empties your heart of doubt and brings you into a state of knowing so that you can “know that you know that you know.” Faith is an inner certainty. Some people call it a “gut feeling;” an unshakable confidence.

There are times when you may wonder, “Why don’t I have more faith?” This is when you have to fight doubt and discouragement. Don’t allow yourself to be discouraged over what little faith you may have any more than a gold prospector gets discouraged when he finds only a little gold. The prospector knows a little gold dust means there’s a lot more where that came from. That’s what keeps him going. And the little faith you have means there’s much more faith in you. And that can keep you going!

You just need enough faith to do something―to plant a seed of faith, however small―and expect God to multiply it into something big. In Matthew 17:20 NIV Jesus said, “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain [your problem or need], ‘Move’ …and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

When you step out in faith, something starts happening inside you. And God starts moving in ways you never even expected!
