Faith Holds Out a Hand

From the archives of Oral Roberts

A friend said to me, “Oral, sometimes I think people believe in Coke machines more than they believe in God.”

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Well, we put our coins into the Coke machine and reach for a Coke,” he said. “But we ask God for something, then just go about our business and don’t act like we’re expecting. We don’t put out our hand to receive anything.”

He has a point there. I believe we should be so eager and ready to accept what God has for us that the moment we ask for something we would reach out our hand to accept it. Dare to reach out your hand of faith to take what God has promised.
