Close the Gap between You and Your Miracle

Lindsay Roberts

Is there a promise in the Bible that isn’t being manifested in your life? I believe God set up the principles of “seed-faith” in His Word because He knew He couldn’t get what we need to us until we first do our part. And what is our part? Giving.

Why did Jesus say, “You give first, then it shall be given unto you?” (See Luke 6:38.) Why did God talk about seedtime and harvest? I don’t know. All I know is that’s the way He set it up. When God asks you to sow and give out of your need, He’s not trying to take something from you. He’s trying to get something to you! When you give, you close up the gap between what you have and what you need, the gap between you and your miracle.

Maybe something like healing or finances or peace is missing in your life. You know God has it and He wants you to have it, because His Word says so (3 John 2). So how do you close the gap between what you have and what you need? Let me use a sack lunch as an example.

If I am hungry, but my sack lunch is on the table across the room, it’s not doing me a bit of good. It belongs to me, but I don’t have it. What I really want is for my lunch to get up off the table, walk over to me, and find its way into my stomach. But it doesn’t happen that way! The way I get it from the table over to me is to make a move and do something about getting it into my stomach.

In the same way, if you want to close the gap between you and your miracle, you must make a move. In His Word, one way God established for you to do that is to give, to sow. He has set up everlasting principles to bless us, and when we get in line with them, we can receive the miracles He has provided for us.
