Cling to God’s Word

From the archives of Oral Roberts

As soon as the prophets of Baal had been defeated by Elijah, the Word of the Lord came again to Elijah and he spoke to Ahab, “Now is the time. The rain is going to come again very soon.” (See I Kings 18:41)

Elijah spoke those words by faith because God told him to speak them. Nobody else had any reason to believe the rain was coming. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, just as there hadn’t been a cloud for the past three years. And yet, Elijah had a word from God that said rain was very near.

Has the Lord spoken in your heart that your miracle is coming? Has the Lord revealed to you that the situation that has you down is going to be reversed, that the life of a loved one is going to be turned around, that love is going to be restored, that health is going to come again, that the finances you need are on the way? Then, cling to that word from the Lord!

Don’t rely on what others say. Don’t rely on the circumstances that continue to stare you in the face. Base your believing on God’s word to you. Refuse to be moved.

The Bible says that after Elijah gave that word to Ahab, he went to the top of Mount Carmel, sat down on the ground, and put his face between his knees. Elijah was in a position of waiting. He didn’t run around telling everyone he met that rain was coming. He kept that word between himself and Ahab, and resolved to put himself into a “faith-watch,” waiting for God to bring to pass what He had spoken.

Don’t give up in your waiting for your miracle to come. Watch in faith. Keep planting your seeds of faith. Keep reading your Bible and going to church. Keep listening to anointed men and women of God who will help build up your faith and who will pray and agree with you. Above all, keep expecting a miracle from God.
