Believe and Be Established

From the archives of Oral Roberts

Jehoshaphat, the mighty king of Judah, arose early one morning and cried out to his people: “Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper (II Chronicles 20:20).

What does it mean to be established? It means that you can’t be moved. You have planted your feet of faith firmly on the solid, unshifting rock of Jesus Christ and you refuse to be swayed by circumstances or moved by the devil. It means that you have taken authority over your “place” on this earth.

Are you aware that you have a place on this earth? God has put you here to claim certain territory for Him ― to turn the devil’s turf into God’s kingdom. You have the authority in Christ Jesus to lay claim to that ground ―not only spiritually speaking, but literally. You can turn your home into God’s refuge. You can turn your business into a place to glorify God.

Jehoshaphat stood before his people and declared: It is the Lord Who establishes us when we believe in Him. It is our believing in Him―trusting Him, looking to Him for answers, expecting His miracles―that establishes us. When we exercise our faith, He undergirds our faith with His faith. When we stake claim to a position on this earth by our faith, He gives us the courage to endure the persecutions that may come against us.

God’s Word says… believe in the Lord God today so you will be established!
