Attach Your Faith to a Seed

Lindsay Roberts

God has given you what you need to live “by faith.”

“…God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3). The challenge facing us is this: How do we activate our faith? How do we put our faith into motion? How do we use our faith?

This is where the principle of “seed” comes in. A seed is anything that you give as if you were giving it directly to God. It may be a simple pat on the shoulder with which you give a person, but you are really giving it as if you were smiling at Jesus and patting His shoulder. It may be a meal that you fix for a family who has no food. You were giving that meal to a very real man, woman, and children, but you are giving it as if you are feeding Jesus Himself. It may be a check you write to Oral Roberts Ministries, but you are giving that money as if you are giving it directly to Jesus to help Him get the Gospel out to more people. A seed is something you GIVE.

Our faith is activated when we attach it to a seed. That’s the way God recognizes our faith at work. When we attach our faith to a seed, the Bible says it becomes a work that is well-pleasing to God. Hebrews 13:21 tells us, God will make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to him be the glory forever and ever.

Sow a seed today. Attach your faith to it. Give it as if you are giving directly to Jesus. And then expect God to count that act of “seed-faith” as well-pleasing in His eyes.
