A Must-Do Feeling

From the archives of Oral Roberts

In John 9, we read the story of how Jesus healed a man who had been blind from his birth. Jesus said about this miracle, “I must work the works of him that sent me” (John 9:4).

Have you ever had a “must–do” feeling…an overwhelming desire to do a certain good thing? Inside, you knew you had the power to do it, and above all, an irresistible urge to do it?

If you have ever had that feeling, then you know a little of how Jesus felt when He came near people who had a need for miracles. Jesus had a must-do feeling about healing and delivering people.

I believe Jesus still has that feeling today as He sits as the right hand of God His Father. The Scriptures tell us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever (see Hebrews 13:8). If Jesus ever healed anyone, He heals today. If He ever delivered anyone from evil, He delivers people from evil today. If He ever felt an urgency to perform a miracle, He feels that urgency today.

Many people say to me, “The day of miracles is over. That was then, this is now.” Friend, Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

What does this mean for you and me today? It means that Jesus has a must-do feeling about the miracle you need! Not only does the Lord care about your need, He cares about it with an urgency to ACT!

Trust Jesus today to be about the “works of His Father” in your life. Acknowledge His presence in your life. Look to Him as your Source. Expect His miracles.
