A Bread-and-Butter Lesson

From the archives of Oral Roberts

In Luke 6:38 Jesus said, “With the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” What did He mean?

I once heard the story of a baker and a farmer. The baker felt the farmer was shortchanging him and took the farmer to court. When the farmer testified, “I measure my pound of butter according to his pound of bread” the judge dismissed the case.

The Living Bible sums up Luke 6:38 like this: “Whatever measure you use, large or small, will be used to measure what is given back to you.”
