A Miracle Settles the Issue

From the archives of Oral Roberts“Miracles Series” – Fourth of seven parts

After the lame man was healed, Peter and John were called before the high priest and other religious leaders in Jerusalem for preaching about Jesus Christ. (It’s still the same today― the preaching of Jesus and healing miracles make many so-called “religious leaders” angry.)

The religious leaders finally had to admit however, “indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it” (Acts 4:16).

A miracle brings people to the point of having to face Jesus directly and to make a decision about Him. A miracle challenges people to decide about Jesus once and for all. Is Jesus real? Is He the Son of God? Did He die on the Cross for my sins so that, through believing in Him, I can have everlasting life? Does God care about people today? Does He heal? Does Jesus work miracles today?

The key issue for you is a personal one: What have you decided about Jesus? Have you faced up to the fact that He desires to be your Savior? Have you asked Him into your life? Have you invited the Holy Spirit to dwell within you and work through you? Are you expecting Jesus to work a miracle in your life…today?

I want to pray with you right now that you may be saved and give your heart to God:

Dear God, I am a sinner. I confess my many sins. I cannot save myself, but You sent Your Son to the Cross to take away my sins. I repent and turn away from my sins, and I am sorry for them. Now, I receive Christ as my Savior to come into my heart, so that I “may know that I may know” that I am now a Christian. Old things have passed away and all things have become new. I confess Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, now and forever. Amen.
