TITLE: Prayer Partner/Lead
REPORTS TO: Director Telephone Ministry and/or Supervisor ALPG Shift

POSITION SUMMARY: Receives telephone calls on behalf of the Roberts family for the purpose of taking prayer requests, seed-faith donations, product requests, praise reports, conference registrations, answering questions regarding ministry and documenting questions to relay to support services. Oversees prayer partners in the absence of the supervisor or when supervisor requests assistance. Documents shift info; conducts all functions confidentially.
- Receive ALPG calls politely, pleasantly and professionally, with compassionate demeanor.
- Follow all steps of the ALPG call pattern in accordance with guidelines set forth by ORM.
- Correctly enter all caller data. Conduct all functions in a timely matter, handling an average of 10 calls per hour.
- Assist present/absent supervisor during shift with data collection, reports and call monitoring.
- Keep aware of and communicate as needed all ALPG/ORM announcements posted on a daily basis.
- Oversee prayer partners in the absence of supervisor or as requested.
- Assure that sufficient staff is available to cover the phones, oversee breaks, etc.
- Monitor and instruct prayer partners receiving emergency calls or needing assistance with certain frequent and/or difficult callers.
- Assist prayer partners with computers, phones and software.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Three to six months experience with ALPG or comparable prayer ministry. Biblical studies or course training, and Christian leadership experience preferred. Prior experience in a call center setting helpful.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND SPECIALIZED TRAINING: Requires high school diploma or GED. Some Bible college is preferred
JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Must be biblically knowledgeable with strong spiritual grounding. Spiritually and emotionally mature with ability to pray God’s word according to caller’s need, while remaining calm, patient and compassionate in situations presented. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Experience with Microsoft Access helpful. Minimum 20 wpm keyboarding speed required. Detail-oriented with excellent spelling, grammar, reading, mathematical and organizational skills, along with strong telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills. Confidentiality of all information is required. Ability to work calmly under potential high-call stress and communicate tactfully with co-workers and partners. Ability to work independently and as a team, and have excellent verbal and written communication, leadership, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Will include but not be limited to: sitting for long periods, standing, walking, climbing stairs, repetitive motion, using equipment requiring manual dexterity (10-key and/or computer), conducting telephone communications for prolonged periods. Must have good near-sight, far-sight, and overall good visual ability and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus. Must hear clearly and distinctly. Must be able to read and write.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Ability to perform required functions indoors, in a temperature-controlled environment independently within groups of people, in an organized and efficient manner, under minimal supervision, whether fast-faced or steady in workflow. Must be capable of sitting and conducting telephone communication for prolonged periods as needed.
MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess logical mental clarity and ability to reason for the purpose of various detailed tasks. Must be capable of working within a diverse group of individuals. Must be able to understand, read and carry out verbal or written instruction. Must possess calm capabilities to multi-task and maintain deadlines in a sometimes fast-paced environment. Due to the nature of some calls received, the ability to leave your work at the office is a must.
HOURS OF WORK AND ATTENDANCE: Various days and shifts available.
