What courses are available?
There are currently six courses available through the School of the Spirit: God’s Power in You: The Holy Spirit and His Gifts, The Healing Ministry of Jesus, The Miracle Living Series, The Holy Spirit’s Work Today, The Anointing of the Holy Spirit, and Biblical Revelation of the End Times.
What course should I enroll in first?
Students are encouraged to read the course descriptions and select the course that is the most appealing. There is no particular sequence required by the School of the Spirit curriculum.
How do I take the classes?
All courses are available by DVD and online by Internet on demand. So, regardless of where students live, School of the Spirit courses are accessible by distance education. Students may enjoy the DVD courses by using a DVD player connected to a television or by playing the DVDs in a computer. Internet courses do require students to have access to a high speed Internet connection.
What are the minimum computer and Internet connection specifications for viewing class sessions on the Internet?
The suggested minimum computer and Internet connection specifications in order to have an enjoyable viewing experience are as follows:
- High-speed Internet minimum download of 600Kbs or 0.6Mbps. A test of your computer and your Internet connection’s download speed may be determined at http://speakeasy.net/speedtest/
- Windows 2000
- Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 2
- Intel® Pentium® III 600MHz, or AMD Athlon® 600MHz (or faster processor)
- 500MB or RAM
- 128MB graphics memory
What is the difference between the Online Lecture Track, DVD Certificate Track, and Advanced Certificate Track (DVD or Online)?
Simply stated, the Online Lecture Track and DVD Certificate Track include Richard and Lindsay’s lecture material only. Students who are enrolled in one or the other of these tracks will watch Richard and Lindsay’s lectures either online on the Internet or by DVD. There are no books included with the Online Lecture Track or the DVD Certificate Track.
There is also a difference between the Online Lecture Track and the DVD Certificate Track in that a certificate of completion is awarded upon course completion to students enrolled in the DVD Certificate Track. Students enrolled in the complementary Online Lecture Track do not receive a certificate of completion upon completion of the course.
The Advanced Certificate Track (DVD or Online) includes the same lectures by Richard and Lindsay but also includes a printed study guide and book(s) for additional study. So, students enrolled in the Advanced Certificate Track (DVD or Online) will watch Richard and Lindsay’s lectures either online on the Internet or by DVD andwill also follow the study guide to complete reading and other course assignments. A certificate of completion is awarded upon course completion to students enrolled in the Advanced Certificate Track.
Which track should I enroll in if I desire to receive a certificate of completion?
A certificate of completion is not awarded to students who enroll in and complete courses through the complementary Online Lecture Track.
Students who desire to receive a certificate of completion to document successful completion of a course should enroll in either the DVD Certificate Track or Advanced Certificate Track (DVD or Online).
How much time do I have to finish a course?
Courses are designed to be completed within 6 to 13 weeks. For courses taken in the Online Lecture Track and DVD Certificate Track, it is recommended that students view one class session per week and complete one quiz per week. Students enrolled in the Advanced Certificate Track will also follow the weekly reading/assignment schedule from the Study Guide. Students are free to schedule their own study periods each week. The Online Lecture Track, DVD Certificate Track, and Advanced Certificate Track (DVD or Online) curriculum does not require students to study at any particular time or day of the week.
Will Dr. Roberts and Lindsay be offering any “live” courses in the future?
There are no live courses scheduled at this time. As schedules permit, live courses may be scheduled in the future. Stayed tuned to our course schedule for announcements about future live courses.
What will take place in the Online and DVD class sessions?
Dr. Richard Roberts or Lindsay Roberts will be teaching and also leading students in question and answer discussions. There may be times of ministry to the students according to how the Lord leads Richard and Lindsay in each session. Richard and Lindsay may have guest speakers and discussion group sessions on occasion.
How much homework will be required for the course?
Online Lecture Track and DVD Certificate Track: Requires watching 6-12 class sessions and completing 6-12 quizzes. The length of the class sessions varies from approximately 50 minutes to 1 ½ hours each.
Advanced Certificate Track (Online or DVD): Requires watching 6-12 class sessions; and completing 6-12 quizzes. The length of the class sessions varies from approximately 50 minutes to 1 ½ hours each. The student will also receive a supplemental course package including book(s); a course study guide detailing seven (7) hours of required reading, and prayer journaling; two (2) hours of volunteer ministry outreach in the community; two (2) hours of reflection including the writing of a brief reflection paper; one (1) hour self-testing review, and one-half (0.5) hour open book final examination.
What kind of credit will I receive for taking the course?
The school provides ministry oriented continuing education including classroom teaching, selected readings and other learning activities resulting in the school certifying continuing education units (does not apply to the Online Lecture Track). School of the Spirit courses are not offered for college credit.
How much will the course cost?
The course tuition is:
Online Lecture Track: There is no charge to take courses in the online lecture track at this time.
DVD Certificate Track: $49.95 per course to receive a DVD packet containing Richard and Lindsay’s lecture material. The DVD package will also include quizzes which are completed by students and mailed back to the Oral Roberts Ministries for evaluation.
Advanced Certificate Track (DVD or Online): Additional $29.95 per course—Students who are watching Richard and Lindsay’s lecture material by DVD or Online may upgrade to the Advanced Certificate Track and will receive by regular mail a course specific book package for more in-depth study.

Students as young as 15 years of age may enroll in the course.
What are the class participation requirements in order to qualify for a Certificate of Completion for the course?
Students enrolled in the DVD Certificate Track or Advanced Certificate Track (DVD or Online) are required to watch all of Richard and Lindsay’s class sessions and successfully complete the corresponding class session quiz in order to receive a certificate of completion. Students electing to upgrade to the Advanced Certificate Track must complete additional course requirements that are outlined in the course study guide in order to receive the Advanced Certificate of Completion.
