Employment: Prayer Partner

Job Description

Receives calls to the Abundant Life Prayer Group (ALPG) on behalf of Oral Roberts Ministries. Politely, pleasantly and professionally answers the phone; asks caller(s) their first name; receives caller’s prayer request; asks caller if they are “born again”; asks caller if they have received their prayer language; encourages caller(s) by providing an appropriate scripture before prayer; prays with the caller(s) by appropriately using God’s Word; encourages caller(s) after prayer with an appropriate scripture; obtains or verifies last name of caller, title, address and phone number. Correctly spells and enters all caller(s) data into the computer. Inquires if caller has contacted the ministry before. Handle(s) requests for product orders, praise reports, conference registrations, ministry related questions and documenting questions for support services to handle. Gives caller the opportunity to sow a Seed-Faith gift into the ministry; informs the caller that the Roberts family will be praying for them and encourage the caller to call us back with a praise report. Conducts all of these functions in a confidential manner as set forth by ORM.

Manually completes supplemental forms legibly and accurately.

Keeps a tally of the number of calls received and totals the number of calls for each hour.

When requested will provide, share a scripture or lead a brief prayer, during announcement/prayer time at the beginning of the shift.

Job Specifications

EDUCATI0N:

Requires a high school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Prefer 3 – 6 months experience in dealing with people and problems of living as gained in church work, personal ministry work, counseling and public relations.

Previous prayer ministry or Bible college experience is preferred.

Must have strong biblical knowledge and the ability to pray and present Seed-Faith opportunities over the phone.

Keyboarding skills required. Prefer 20 – 25 wpm typing with accuracy.

Must have good spelling, grammar, reading, organizational and interpersonal skills.

Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS include but are not limited to: sitting for long periods of times, standing, walking, bending, reaching, repetitive motion, twisting of upper body, and manual dexterity for use of writing instrument, computer, reference books, manuals and phones. Vision to include: near vision, color vision, and the ability to bring objects into sharp focus. Handwriting must be legible while writing quickly under pressure. Must be able to hear clearly and distinctly, and be able to read and speak English clearly.

Must be mentally alert, and able to take one call after another. Requires the ability to handle emergency calls such as suicide or abusive calls from a caller who may be drunk, cursing, argumentative, or mentally disturbed.

Will on occasion be exposed to loud noise during taping/broadcast of the TV program.
