Mid-November 2017 Mailing

Dear Partner,

I have something to share with you that I believe is straight from God, and also news that I believe will be a blessing to you. But before I share it, I want to take time to thank God for you, and for our many partners like you who have sown in faith into this ministry over the last 30 days.

Because of your quick and generous response, the ministry’s finances have begun to take a turn for the better. And although I still need your financial support—now, and each month going forward—I just want to again say thank you so much for responding as you have to this urgent need.

Partner, as I share with you what the Lord has been speaking to me, I pray you will be encouraged in your faith to believe God for a miracle.

David said in Psalm 23, Yes, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. The words in this Psalm that give me the most comfort and assurance are “for You are with me.” They are comforting because the truth is, a spirit of fear has been loosed in the world.

Yes, a spirit of anarchy and lawlessness seems to be filling the world…and it all is coming from the devil himself.

But as for you and me as Christians, God has not given us a spirit of fear (or of anarchy and lawlessness). Instead, God has given us a spirit of power, love and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).

Yes, the world is getting darker, and trouble seems to be lurking around every corner. However, I want you to remember that God Almighty has not fallen off His throne. And not one of His angels has been destroyed or deterred from their mission to Believers, those of us who love the Lord, and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

And I want you to know that I have not stopped and will not stop making intercession for Believers—partners like you—who continue to stand strong in the faith, no matter what you see happening around you.

Praise God, I am not afraid of this present darkness we see around us. No, not at all — because I know God is with me. However, I do believe we should be vigilant and listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:5˗6) and be guided by Him in all we do.

Never in my lifetime of 69 years have I ever seen so much hatred and violence. Never have I witnessed this level of terrorism. Never have there been so many senseless killings.

Everywhere I go, people are asking, why, why, why? What gets into a person who can pull out an assortment of weapons and fire on a crowd of people, wounding and killing so many, as we have seen happen recently?

Well, I’ll tell you the answer to that question of “why.” And it’s not because people have access to guns. It is because the spirit of the devil can influence the heart and mind of a person who has not been born again by the blood of Jesus. It’s satan who comes only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy men’s lives (John 10:10).

Weapons by themselves don’t kill; people influenced by evil kill. There were no guns back in Cain’s day, but because Cain’s heart was filled with anger at God, he attacked and killed his brother Abel. Cain was angry with God because God had shown favor to Abel when Abel chose to do the right thing. Cain chose to do the wrong thing, and he took out his rejection from God on his brother. (See Genesis chapter 4.)

Jesus said in Matthew 15:19˗20, “For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies…” Murders and other evil acts happen when people are influenced by evil.

Some years ago, I spoke on the phone with a young man who was in prison. He was there on death row, awaiting his own execution for murders he had committed. He told me he really didn’t know why he had done it except for a voice inside that told him…pull the trigger. This young man and Cain are examples of how someone can be influenced by evil.

But you know what? God can always bring good out of any situation, no matter how dark. After this young man’s execution, I was asked by his wife and family to preach at his memorial service. And I agreed to do so. During that service, several of his family members gave their hearts to the Lord. Praise God!

Yes, evil is all around, but we can’t live our lives in fear. Living life is a daily thing, and you cannot hide away, locked up behind closed doors in your house, hoping not to have to confront it. You have things to do and places to go. So do I.

The Lord knows that. That’s why He sends forth His angels as ministering spirits to minister to us who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14). We can put on (call upon) our angels every day. You see, you didn’t lose your guardian angel just because you grew up. You can call on the angelic hosts to surround you, to protect you, and to protect your family and dear ones.

Praise God, we—you and I—can call on the Name that is higher than any other name, the Name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. So, don’t for a moment think that you are powerless against the tricks and strategies of the devil, because you are not.

Yes, it’s true…the devil has weapons…but so do we! You and I have weapons that are not carnal (not material weapons of the flesh), but mighty weapons of the spirit. And when we use them, they will help us pull down the strongholds of the devil and win victories for the Lord (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

One of the spiritual weapons God has given us is His full armor (Ephesians 6). I encourage you to daily put on your helmet of salvation to protect your mind. Put on your breastplate of righteousness to protect your heart, and the belt of truth…Jesus…Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

You can put on your Gospel shoes of peace in order to walk over the devil’s roughest territory successfully. You can take up your sword of the spirit, which is the Word of God, and speak scriptures of provision and safety over your life and your family’s lives every day. Hold up your shield of faith, which will quench the fiery darts and attacks of the devil.

Pray always in the spirit by praying in tongues, then praying again in your own language — and receive understanding and wisdom from the Holy Spirit of what to do as you go about your everyday life.

Now, listen, I’ve read the Bible… from the beginning to the end. And we win. We win! Let that get down deep into your spirit… We win!

Settle it once and for all in your mind that you can be an overcomer through faith in Jesus Christ. Believe it, then act on it with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And as you do, expect God to show up in your behalf in a powerful way. Expect it, in Jesus’ name. And I believe He will.

So, Partner, declare this with me: I will not be afraid. I will walk in the light of the Lord, and He will direct my path.

Let that be your motto, and say it over and over again until it becomes a part of you. Let it get so deep down into your spirit that there is no more room for any fear or any anxiety about the future.

Now, here’s my exciting news concerning this healing ministry…

As I write this letter, I’m in London, England, in the midst of a ministers conference, where I’m teaching pastors and leaders the principles of healing, the Holy Spirit and Seed-Faith. Lives are being touched and changed. The power of the Lord is present to heal and to deliver. I wish you and all my partners could be here with me. But I know that by faith, you are with me in the spirit.

And as a result of every seed you sow unto the Lord through this healing ministry, I am helped to obey God’s calling on my life through this and other global Greater Works Vision outreaches. And from the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for your support and your prayers.

The Bible says we are to cast our bread upon the waters, and after a time it will come back to us (Ecclesiastes 11:1). “Casting your bread” means giving some of your supply of resources unto the Lord. The word “waters” here represents humanity, people all over the world, in every nation, tribe and tongue, who are in such desperate need of God’s salvation, healing and miracles.

When we—you and I—sow our seed unto God, He then takes it and uses it for His own glory, and afterwards, He multiplies it back to us. Now, it may not come back on the same wave that you cast your seed on…but on a new wave.

What I mean by that is… Don’t put limits on how you think God is going to bless you. Because however God chooses to send that wave of His blessing back to you, it will be in good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, according to God’s Word in Luke 6:38.

As I mentioned earlier in this letter, many partners have begun to respond (as I had faith they would) to help us address the financial needs of this ministry. And I am so grateful for the quick response.

But I still need your help…not only this month, but each and every month going forward.

So, I’m asking you to again “cast your bread upon the waters” through sowing seed into the fertile soil of this healing ministry. Through your seeds sown, many lives can be touched by God through the outreaches of Oral Roberts Ministries… I’m talking about people such as Sherrell in Georgia when she called the Abundant Life Prayer Group.

Our prayer partners shared her powerful testimony with me, and I want to share it with you…

Sherrell called to request prayer for her daughter whom the doctors said had a hole in her heart and a blockage and that she needed surgery. After receiving prayer, the doctors re-ran some tests before her daughter’s surgery and found that she no longer had a hole in her heart, and the blockage was completely gone!

As you sow your seed in faith this month—and in the months to come—tell the Lord what you’re believing Him to do in your behalf on the next wave of His blessing. I believe that just as He met Sherrell’s needs, He can and will meet your needs too!

And when you sow your seed, don’t forget to write your prayer requests on the prayer and praise sheet I’ve enclosed. Send them to me just as soon as you can, and I’ll hold your name and your needs in my hands, and I will pray. I will agree with you, according to God’s Word and His will for a miracle in your life.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Your partner for miracles,
