TITLE: Graphic Designer
REPORTS TO: Director Creative Services
DEPARTMENT: 57490 Creative Services
FLSA STATUS: Hourly/Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: Support ministry in communicating the gospel of Jesus Christ globally by collaborating with creative team to design graphics for ministry publications, books, magazines, CD’s, DVD’s, web, direct mail, mass email, and social media.

• Design layouts for print and web.
• Design, schedule and send email communications.
• Release approved files to printers or upload to web.
• Adhere to ministry design standards and preferences.
• Maintain archiving of photos and completed projects to include naming and cataloging for easy retrieval.
• Enhance and color correct photos.
• Apply content updates to websites.
• Design content for social media.
• Update content in ORM mobile app.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND SPECIALIZED TRAINING: Bachelors or Associates degree in Graphic Design and or

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least 2-3 years design experience working with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.

JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. Experience with Lightroom, WordPress, HTML and MailChimp is preferred. Knowledge of basic graphic design and typographic principles demonstrated through applicants portfolio of work. Working knowledge of conventional and electronic prepress and printing procedures. Organized, detail oriented and flexible. Able to prioritize jobs to meet deadlines and learn new software/skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Will include but not be limited to: sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, using equipment requiring manual dexterity (10-key and/or computer), and lifting up to 25 lbs on occasion. Must possess good near-sight, far-sight, and non-color-blind visual ability as well as the ability to bring objects into sharp focus. Must hear clearly and distinctly and be able to read and write.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Be able to perform the required job functions indoors, in a temperature-controlled environment either independently or within a group of people, in an organized and efficient manner, as required, under minimal to no general supervision, whether fast-faced or steady in workflow.

MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must have creative-minded flow of ideas and conceptions with the ability to implement creative design into required tasks. Must possess logical mental clarity and ability to reason for the purpose of various detailed tasks. Must be capable of working harmoniously within a diverse group of individuals, whether co-workers or partners or other individuals. Must be able to understand, read and carry out verbal or written instruction. Must possess calm capabilities to multi-task and maintain deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to perform functions cooperatively, whether directed independently or as a team.

HOURS OF WORK AND ATTENDANCE: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Hours may vary depending on workload required and occasional overtime hours are possible.
