The Joy of the Lord Is Our Strength

Richard RobertsThird of three parts

Number three ― Begin to give like you have never given before.

When you stop tithing, the windows of heaven stay shut. God says, Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts (Malachi 3:10–11).

Number four ― Receive a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit. Elisha had asked for a double portion of the Spirit that had rested upon Elijah, and he received it. I knew there was Bible precedent for believing God for a double-portion anointing of the Holy Spirit, so I said, “Lord, I want a double portion of the anointing that has rested upon my father.”

Whatever your position is in life, you must have the anointing. You need a fresh release of the Holy Spirit’s anointing because there is trouble everywhere. So many of God’s people are so down and hurting!

Many a Christian today has parked alongside the “by accident” way of life and they’ve never gotten back up again. They need to have the Holy Spirit moving in them and to be praying in tongues. Then there’s one more thing that we’ve got to have that’s extra. That’s the joy of the Lord! The Bible says, The joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
