Joseph, the Dreamer

Richard Roberts First of six parts

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. (Jeremiah 29:11 Amplified).

No matter what you’re going through, God is still directing your steps. If you are called according to His purpose, then He will cause all things to work together for your good. Your life will fit into a plan — His plan.

After Jesus was baptized, the Bible tells us that the Spirit led Him into the wilderness… and there was the devil. Wherever you go, you will find the devil. The devil will be there because he is a worthy adversary, walking to and fro to see whom he may devour. He is the devourer. Wherever you go in life, he will be there because you are dangerous to the devil and he knows that if you obey God, you will make a difference.

In Genesis, chapter 37 is the story of a young man named Joseph. Joseph was a dreamer. He dreamed dreams and shared them with his brothers; and the brothers became very angry.

One day when they were out in the field, they took Joseph’s coat of many colors… a coat his father had given him because he was the favorite son. They doused it in animal blood as proof to their father that Joseph had been attacked and killed, threw Joseph into a pit, and then sold him into slavery.

Many years passed, and Joseph must have wondered if he was in God’s will. But all along, God was directing his steps, directing his path, causing all things to work together for his good. And in God’s timing, everything did work out.

God can do the same for you, if you will be obedient and if you will listen to His voice.
