God’s Will Brings Peace

Richard RobertsFourth of four parts

The will of God always brings peace into our lives as believers in Christ Jesus ― both to us as individuals and to us as groups of God’s people. As long as there is disharmony in the Body of Christ, you can be assured that God’s will is not being followed.

Jesus actually commanded those who followed Him to live in peace. He said, “Have peace one with one another (Mark 9:50).” As a part of His last evening with His disciples before His trial and crucifixion, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).”

Do you have uneasiness in your spirit about something? Are you deeply unhappy and disturbed about a certain situation or circumstance in your life? Have you heard yourself say, “I just don’t feel peace about this”? That’s a sign to you from God that you are not living in the fullness of God’s will.

Peace ― that deep assurance of heart, mind, and will ― comes when we are walking fully in God’s plan for our lives. Ask God today to reveal to you His plan for your life, and then settle yourself on a course to implement His plan in your life. You can experience His peace as you live according to His Word and fulfill His purpose for your life.
