A Point of Contact

Richard Roberts

Through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people.  —Acts 5:12 NKJV

Viewers of our television program THE PLACE FOR MIRACLES often see Lindsay and me stretch our hands out toward them as we invite those watching to place their hands on their TV screens as a “point of contact.” Thousands of times we have seen God’s miracle-working power move through prayer and this type of point of contact as people release their faith.

A point of contact can be thought of in terms of a light switch and the power company. There is a light switch on your wall, and the electric company has the power, but you have to make the connection—or switch on the power—between the light and the electric company so the light will turn on.

The Bible says, You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you (Acts 1:8 NKJV). There’s a moment when that power is released according to the Word of God. When you get into agreement with the Word and you release your faith to God, I believe that’s when the point of contact takes place. That’s when the power source takes a hit and miracles begin!

Acts 5:12 says that God worked through the hands of the disciples. And John 8:31 tells us that if we continue in God’s Word, then we are His disciples. Those of us who believe in Jesus are His modern-day disciples, and God’s promises are available to us, just as His promises were available to the original disciples. Reach for your point of contact—and your miracle—today!
